There are many ways to approach your social media content. I have my own three-point plan in deciding how anyone can post to their account:

  1. Present your ideals in way that educates and entertains
  2. Create various formats, such as pre-recorded videos, live videos and pictures often
  3. Be true to yourself and use your voice in communicating

There’s no one correct approach, but if you’re looking for inspiration, here are three different entities on social media that’s worth showcasing…

T&K Hunting

WHAT THEY DO: 

Make quality hunting gear that’s 100% made in the USA. This organization is run by a father and son who are also military veterans. 

THE APPROACH:

It’s clear that this is a fast growing brand. Some posts include videos showcasing new products, a new employee joining the company, or even long dialogue to say thank you.

It’s not always glorious. Sometimes the accounts will showcase the struggles encountered by selling products that are 100% USA made. For some reason – that connects you to their journey even more. 

Nerd_Fitness

WHAT THEY DO: 

Help people become healthy by using a geek culture mentality. 

THE APPROACH:

This account uses the approach of ‘educating and entertaining’ to a whole new level. Some examples of content include comic book style imagery to show you how to do a proper pushup, an inspirational Star Wars meme to apply to your eating habits, tweets that are screenshotted and reposted as images to other platforms. 

For The Love Of Old Houses

WHAT THEY DO: 

Showcase mostly unique pre-1970’s homes from around the United States.

THE APPROACH:

This page takes the phrase “curbside appeal” to a whole new level. 

It’s one stop shopping for people looking to purchase unique homes or are simply window shopping. It’s not clear if this page is run by a group of realtors, if the page is sold unique listings to post, or something else – but it shows that offering uncommon posts as often as possible is a great approach.
