Newark, NJ 10/29/13 – The Newark Fire Officer’s Union IAFF Local 1860 AFL-CIO, CLC proudly endorses candidate John Sharpe James for Councilman at Large.
John Sharpe James has proven to be an exemplary individual based on his service in the military and his public service record. “He understands the importance of public safety as it relates to economic revitalization, states NFOU President Captain Anthony Tarantino. “John’s service to our country abroad and his commitment to Newark as a life long resident shows the Newark Fire Officers that he understands boots on the ground public safety.”
The Fire Department serves as one of Newark’s several paramilitary organizations. “Police and Fire work together to serve as the city of Newark’s ground forces. We need someone in office that understands the severity and unpredictability of the field – someone who knows the importance of public safety and the safety of the men and women who dedicate their lives enforcing it,” Tarantino adds.
