I am an unapologetic book lover. There are so many times that I have picked up a good book and gotten completely swept away by it. I have many a night said to myself, “Just one more chapter,” and been up until 1 or 2 in the morning.
There are some books that I’ve loved so much that I read them more than once. Rereading them is like greeting a group of old friends as you get swept up in their stories once again.
Two of my personal favorites are the Belgariad and Mallorean series from David Eddings. They were stories that I could not put down the first time I read them. When I read them again during lockdown, I was just as enthusiastic.
Reading brings me to my happy place. It pulls me into different worlds, and introduces me to interesting creatures and characters. Books create a little escape for you when you need one. And we all needed one last year.
