On Tuesday, May 10th, the 200 Club of Essex County held their 56th Annual Valor Awards Luncheon. This event pays tribute to first responders who distinguish themselves with acts of valor that are above and beyond the call of duty. Several of this year’s award recipients were members of the Newark Fire Department. Saturday, April 30th marked a new era in the history of Ironbound Ambulance. It chronicled the beginning of a new partnership between University Hospital and Ironbound Ambulance Squad, as well as to observe the occasion of University Hospital putting their ambulance into service. This Saturday is National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day! Meant to raise awareness about eligible pets looking for homes, its goal is to help thousands of pets find their forever homes. Although much of the focus is on cats and dogs of all ages, they aren’t the only pets looking to be adopted.
